After the public reaction, the pressure on B. Hasanov stopped

Baku / 21.05.19 / Turan: The activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), Babek Hasanov, was transferred from quarantine to general conditions of detention ahead of schedule. This happened after the facts of inhuman treatment of him in colony number 6 were made public.

After Hasanov was transferred to the jail N6 on May 15, it became known that they placed him to the punishment cell and mocked him.

On May 19, an activist met with his brother Javid, who confirmed the facts of moral and psychological pressure and threats.

On May 21, Babek Hasanov phoned his relatives from the prison and said that he had been transferred from the "quarantine" to the common cell. The pressure on him stopped and, representatives of the ombudsman"s office visited him along with other prisoners. His brother Javid Hasanli told Turan about this.

Javid believes that the attention of society, discussions in social networks and the media played an important role in the cessation of pressure on his brother.

Babek Hasanov was arrested in May last year in the so-called case of illegal financing of the PFPA. The court sentenced him to three years in prison. -06B-
