Amnesty International Starts Campaign in Support of Khadija Ismayilova
Amnesty International has launched a campaign in support of the journalist Khadija Ismayilova convicted in Azerbaijan.
The AI report says Khadija is a prisoner of conscience, convicted and prosecuted on false charges, and she should be released immediately.
The organization urges the international media covering the upcoming race Formula -1 in Baku to use them to bring to the world community the truth about the Ismayilova case.
In this context, the AI appealed to all colleagues from human rights organizations and all interested parties to write e-mails addressed to President Ilham Aliyev, demanding the immediate release of Ismayilova, and also write letters of support to the journalist’s mother Elmira Ismayilova.
Recall that Ismayilova was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison on trumped-up charges of tax evasion, abuse and embezzlement. -16 / 02D-
