An attempt to smuggle 26 kg of drugs across the Caspian Sea has been stopped
Azerbaijani border guards prevented the smuggling of more than 26 kg of narcotic drugs and a batch of tobacco products across the Caspian Sea.
As a result of joint actions of the Coast Guard unit and the crew of the border court, it was possible to stop the illegal import into the country of 24 kg 835 g of marijuana, 1 kg 490 g of opium, 2,500 tablets of methadone M-40, 660 units of capsules "Pregabalin 150", 40 boxes of Marlboro cigarettes, 10 boxes of Milano cigarettes and 5 TITAN cigars, the message of the State Border Service (SBS). Operational and investigative measures are continuing.
The message does not indicate which country the smuggling attempt was made from.
However, as a rule, attempts to smuggle drugs and other goods through the Caspian Sea are made from Iran.
