Andrei Arshavin will play for Khazar-Lankaran for 2 million euros

The player of London Arsenal Russian Andrey Arshavin will continue his career in the Azerbaijani club Khazar-Lankaran.

Until the end of the season the right to this player will be kept by Arsenal, then the player will be free, the website of the football player reported.

In the two months remaining before the end of the championship, Arshavin will be the highest-paid player in the world. The services of one of the most popular players in the will cost Khazar 4 million euros, which is EUR 2 million a month. For comparison, the salary of Lionel Messi is just over 1.6 million per month.

The current coach of Khazar John Toshack would like to see Arshavin in his team. The information spread last week. But Arshavin, according to the British press, refused, as neither he nor his family wanted to move to Azerbaijan. However, the contract for 4 million was an offer he could not refuse.

Information about the transition of Arshavin has been already confirmed in the Azerbaijani club. “Andrei Arshavin really officially signed a contract with our club.”

Arshavin's transition from Arsenal to Khazar-Lankaran has become a significant event not only for the club but for the whole of the Azerbaijani championship, said the press service of Khazar.

Meanwhile, Arshavin published on his website impressions of Baku: "We came with Julia to Baku. The smooth high-speed line ran from the airport to the city center where we were presented a nice room in the Park Hyatt. Along the way, I noticed that the city is actively constructed. And we noticed to the friends we met that the scale of construction and building skyscrapers resembles Dubai. Ambitious projects are appreciated in Baku. It was immediately obvious. But they do not just love, but are able to embody them. We were impressed by the complex Flame Tower - three huge steel and glass skyscrapers depicting three flames that adorn the arms of Baku. We wandered through the old narrow streets of Old Baku and we were gladly shown the place where they filmed the iconic movie Diamond Hand by Gaidai. I even went to the patio, which was in the film as a smuggling pharmacy Chikanuk, where the hero of Nikulin had his arm plastered and hidden treasures. What struck me was that this is essentially a monument of history and culture, and ordinary people also live there with their immediate problems and concerns. Surprisingly - to the left there is a medieval palace of kings, and to the right there is an ordinary house of Modern Baku. And all this is organically intertwined and cute....

I'm generally not a big fan of lamb, but in Baku I ate only nice lamb chops cooked by local chefs. It's a real delicious. Nowhere this dish is cooked so deliciously as in Baku. It is rather difficult for professional football players to keep to a diet in Azerbaijan. There are many temptations! We never ate at the same place, and we had time to appreciate the skill of cooks not only in Baku, but also in other regions of the country. They deserve the highest score!"

Despite the fact that London Arsenal keeps the rights to the footballer, Andrei will hardly return to the camp of the Gunners. Arsene Wenger does not see him in the first team of the club, and Arshavin comes to replace others very rarely. And no matter how well the Russian plays in Khazar, his success is unlikely to produce a great impression on the coach of Arsenal.

As for Khazar, this team is not considered a leading club in the country and ranks ninth in the championship of Azerbaijan, where 12 teams play.

The owner of the club is the head of the transnational transport company Palmali Mubariz Mansimov.-02D-
