Another accused in Ganja events detained
Baku / 06.08.18 / Turan: A resident of Ganja, Ismayilov (1994), was arrested on August 1 as an active participant in the riots in Ganja early July this year. He was detained while crossing of the state border towards Georgia through the checkpoint Shikhly, reads the message of the State Border Service on Monday. Before this, 61 people were detained for involvement in the riots in Ganja, in addition, four people were killed during the operations of the special services, and another 13 were put on the wanted list.
On July 3, Yunus Safarov made an attempt on the head of the executive power of Ganja, Elmar Veliyev, and wounded the guard and Veliyev himself. On July 10, residents of Ganja held a protest rally, expressing discontent with Veliyev's management and demanding his dismissal. During the clashes with the police, the protesters killed two police officers. -16D-

The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
