Another Azerbaijani Believer Detained in Turkey
Baku / 27.04.19 / Turan: Another Azerbaijani believer Elnur Mehdiyev was detained in Turkey. This was reported by his relatives.
The reasons for the detention are not known. It is assumed that he was wanted in connection with the events in Nardaran in November 2015, when the police conducted a special operation in this Baku suburb against the leader and activists of the Muslim Unity Movement.
It is not excluded that Mehdiyev will be extradited to the law enforcement bodies of Azerbaijan.
In mid-March, Anar Jabbarov, an activist of the Muslim Unity Movement (MUM), was detained in Turkey. On March 22, he was taken to Baku and transferred to the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDCOC) of the MIA. He was accused of drug trafficking on a large scale. However, on April 6, the case was unexpectedly closed and Jabbarov was released from custody. -06D--
