Another Construction Company Accused of Fraud
The Main Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General's Office reviewed the special decision of the Court of Khatai on the wrongdoing by the director of the construction company AENT-E Akbar Jafarov.
As stated in the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the investigation revealed that abusing the official position, Jafarov resold already sold apartments in high-rise apartment building on the Avenue Ganja in the Khatai district on false documents.
Thus, he appropriated other people's property in the amount of 166 500 manat.
A criminal case was filed under Art. 178.3.2 (fraud causing serious injury), 179.3.2 (embezzlement causing significant damage), 308.1 (abuse of power) and 320.1 (forgery, illegal manufacture or sale of official documents, state awards, seals, stamps, forms or use of false documents) of the Criminal Code. The investigation continues.
Cheating of shareholders by construction companies became a common problem for thousands of citizens in the recent years. For such violations employees of more than 10 companies have been convicted. -16D04-
