Arab Tourists Become Victims of Fire in Gabala, One Dead
Baku / 08.10.18 / Turan: Early in the morning of October 8, a fire occurred in a private house in the resort of Gabala (200 km west of Baku). As a result, 7 tourists from Syria, who rented the house for holidays, were injured. According to the executive authority of Gabala, one of the victims died, and the rest were hospitalized with burns and smoke poisoning. According to the same source, the condition of three of them is assessed as serious.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. The investigation is underway. -05B-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
