At the trial in the case of Gezal Bayramli
Baku / 26.12.17 / Turan: The witnesses' testimony continued at the trial on the case of the deputy chairman of the Popular front party Gezal Bayramli in the Gazakh regional court. Witness Hasan Mahmudov, who was in the service of Bayramli's arrest, was interrogated. He said he did not see how the money was found. The witness said that he had seen Bayramli in the territory where customs control was being carried out. At the same time, he could not answer the question why the investigation is conducted by the Border Guard Service," lawyer Elchin Sadygov told Turan. Another witness, the inquirer of the State Border Service did not appear at the trial and the hearings were postponed to January 4. To support Bayramly from Baku and other regions in Gaza, a large group of activists of the Popular Front Party and the National Council of Democratic Forces arrived. However, many of them were not admitted to the hall.
* Bayramli was detained on May 25 at the border checkpoint upon his return from Georgia. A lawsuit was filed against her in connection with Article 206.1 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code and the court arrested her. According to the investigation, during the examination of baggage Bayramli were found $12000, which she allegedly did not declare. Bayramli said that the money was planted to her, and her arrest was ordered. She also stated that she went to Georgia for treatment and for the last two years she underwent surgery there. -03B06-
