At the trial in the case of the Elder of the village of Nardaran
Baku/14 .04.17/Turan: Today's sitting in the Baku Court for Serious Crimes in the case of Nardaran village elder Natiq Kerimov and former deputy chairman of the Islamic Party of Azerbaijan Inglab Akhadov, accused of state treason, was postponed. The reason was not the appearance of the prosecutor's office and the state attorney, Kerimov told journalists, under house arrest. Therefore, the judge Ahmed Guliyev postponed the meeting on April 20.
It should be noted that the judicial investigation was completed and today the final speech of the prosecutor was expected. In what exactly are accused Kerimov and Ahadov is unknown. Kerimov because of the subscription to not disclose the secrets of the investigation refrains from commenting.
Earlier there were cases of arrests of residents of Nardaran on charges of spying for Iran.
Kerimov was arrested in early January last year. On January 19, he was released under house arrest. The arrest was preceded by a special operation in Nardaran in November 2015, which resulted in the killing of 6 people, including 2 policemen.
In connection with these events, about 90 people were arrested. Some of them were sentenced to various terms on charges of illegal possession of weapons.
The group of accused, including the leader of the movement "Muslim Unity" Tale Bagirzade, was sentenced for long periods on charges of attempting to seize power and change the state system. The trials of other arrested persons continue. -1606D--
