Authorities allocated 1 mln.235 thousand AZN to 33 papers
Foundation of Mass Media under the President of the country at today's meeting decided to allocate funds to 33 newspapers.
The funds are allocated on the basis of projects submitted to the editorial boards of the second half of 2014.
As stated in the Fund, the total amount of allocated funds was 1 mln.235 thousand manats.
Total 35 projects were presented, but the documentation of the newspapers Echo and Aks-Seda was unsatisfactory and was not satisfied.
It is noteworthy that almost all publications that have received a lot of money are official or pro-government ones. No money was allocated to the leading opposition newspaper Azadlig or to the Zerkalo paper that recently closed down due to financial problems.
It is also noteworthy that such small-circulation and non-influential publications as Kaspi and Movghe received 60 thousand manats. Other limited editions as Adalat, 525, Olaylar, and Palitra also received 60,000 AZN.
The same amount was received by Yeni Musavat, Express, Baki Khabar, Ses, and Yeni Azerbaijan.
Eight more publications received 40 thousand AZN, four newspapers got 30,000 AZN, 4 got 20 thousand AZN, one paper got 10,000 and 5 papers got 9 thousand AZN each. -05D-
