Azad Isazade: Defense Minister and head of state do not express their condolences to the bereaved families

Often cases of the death of soldiers in the army in non-combat conditions  is  a crying phenomenon. This  makes doubtful the power, military capabilities and discipline in the armed forces. The Army  is becoming a threat to young people who need to fulfill their duty to their country. It turns out that the draftees find their death, not for the country, but due to the "whim" or aggression  of officers, senior soldiers or anyone else, Turan was told  by the military expert and clinical psychologist, Azad Isazade, commenting on the recent negative developments.

To stop this,  there is no need for new laws, there are laws, and they are normal. If every officer, senior soldiers, commanders and other superiors clearly follow the Charter of the army, rules and regulations, then there would not be problems, and it would be  easier to deal with bullying in the army. 

According  to Isazade,  elements of bullying are even in school: almost all children have  faced pressure from high school? But there is a control on the part of teachers and parents. In the army, the siatution is different, there is no such control, and 18-year-old boys are beginning to assert themselves. However, the officers somehow shift their responsibilities on the shoulders of senior soldiers and NCOs. This often leads to another tragedy. Once it becomes public, they remember the "esprit de corps". Officers are trying to evade responsibility, to hide the fact  from the superiors and Defense Ministry.

All this leads to frequent and unnecessary deaths of soldiers. However,  if there is at least  one an objective investigation, and responsible people are punished, regardless of their rank, it  will work, said Isazade.

"During combatin 1992-94 years,  old-timers always helped the young soldiers, worried about them,"  said Isazade. However, in time of peace  there is an opposite.

In the army, there is  a percentage of losses in military exercise, in combat, in the mountainous and snowy  areas. But  now the death of soldiers have become absurdity, and the public has no information about all cases.

Referring to the death ofCeyhun Gubadov,  according to the official version, he died of a heart attack, but there were serious injures on his  body: either the military medical commission sent to the army  a sick person, or he had a heart attack, or a false expert opinion on the causes of death of the soldier.

"It is necessary to clarify all cases,  investigate and punish those responsible," said the expert. Public control is  necessary , and it would reduce,  or even nullified the  death of soldiers in the army.

It is necessary to bring to the army  an  institute of military psychologists, and they  should be given  the rank of junior officers, and let them work with the staff," says Isazade.

Asking the  question why the army leadership is  so indifferent to the fate of their soldiers, Isazade replied: "Since 1995, the Secretary of Defense has never failed to report to the Parliament, and  never told about his work. The Defense Minister or the Commander in Chief did not express sympathy to the families of deceased soldiers, but  they were obliged to do so. Parents have entrusted the army and the state  their children. Army leaders must empathize with the parents these losses. It is their duty and responsibility," concluded the psychologist. -04В-
