Azerbaijani Citizens Injured in Bus Accident near Igdir
Two passenger buses following from Nakhchivan to Istanbul and back, collided this morning in Turkey, near the border with Azerbaijan. The accident that occurred in the province of Igdir at the border crossing Lilucu caused numerous casualties.
The newspaper Hurriyet referring to the Igdir Governor Turgay Alpman, announced the death of six people and 16 wounded.
According to information from sources in Nakhchivan, on the site of the accident 11 people were killed and about 20 people received injuries of varying severity. The seriously injured were hospitalized in Igdir. Among the injured, there are many Azerbaijani citizens, but the exact number is unknown.
The dead include two bus drivers and their assistants. All of them were Turkish citizens.
The bus coming from Nakhchivan belonged to the company Metro, while the other bus b elonged to Igdir Tourism.
