Azerbaijani pilgrims in a traffic accident in Iran
A bus with Azerbaijani pilgrims crashed near Ardebil, Iran on April 13. The incident occurred at 04.15 a.m., the pilgrims returning from Kerbela and Mashhad.
According to Radio IRIB, as a result of the accident a fire broke in the bus Scania 86, where 31 passengers were. Three pilgrims suffered severe burns and were hospitalized, but their names have not been disclosed. Little is known on the others, but they were able to leave the burning bus .
The Iranian TV channel Sahar reported that the passports of 9 of the passengers burned, causing problems as they move across the border into the Bilasuvar customs checkpoint. After the intervention of the Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mohsun Pakian, the problem was solved. -16D04-
