Baku/11.03.14/Turan : The Interior Ministry press service reported on the detention in Baku of representatives of the religious movement Nursism.
On April 12 in the house of a citizen Eldaniz Hajiyev in Mustafayev Street a meeting was held with the participation of 41 people, two of whom were minors.
The house of Hajiyev was searched and the law enforcers found banned religious literature , computer equipment , mobile phones, U.S. $ 2,200 , 286 manat and passports of citizens. The case is under investigation, the Interior Ministry said in a statement .
However, from this message it is not clear what the crime is or what kind of religious literature it is. It is unclear why the computers, money and mobile phones have become the basis for the beginning of the investigation.
In recent years , Azerbaijan has launched a state-controlled media hysteria over the "conspiracy" of the Nursists and their relations with certain forces inside and outside of Azerbaijan. They do not say, what the movement did wrong or planned to commit.
Recall that Nursists are supporters of the Turkish religious leader Fatullah Gulen, who lives in exile in the United States. In Azerbaijan the movement, with support of the authorities many years ago, established several secondary schools, which are very popular, and their graduates have a high level of knowledge. -16D04-
