Bakhtiar Hajiyev continues his hunger strike for fifth day
Baku/19.12.22/Turan: Arrested activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev continues his hunger strike in Baku pre-trial detention center-1 for the fifth day, human rights activist Rufat Safarov told Turan.
Today Hajiyev was visited by lawyer Adil Lahidj. The activist refuted the statement of the penitentiary service that he had stopped his hunger strike.
According to Safarov, Bakhtiar Hajiyev is under strong moral and psychological pressures to stop his hunger strike.
Recall that Bakhtiar Hajiyev was detained on December 9 on charges of hooliganism and contempt of court. On the same day, the Khatai district court arrested him for a month and 20 days. The defense appealed this decision, and Hajiyev himself promised to declare an indefinite hunger strike if the court does not satisfy the complaint.
On December 15, the Court of Appeal rejected Hajiyev's complaint. -06B-
