Bakhtiar Hajiyev resumed taking water, but continues hunger strike
Baku/21.02.23/Turan: Since today, the arrested activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev has resumed taking water. İn doing so, he stopped the dry hunger strike that he kept for 5 days.
This was reported to Turan by lawyer Rovshana Rahimli, who visited the activist in a medical institution of the penitentiary service.
According to her, Bakhtiar Hajiyev agreed to resume taking water at the insistence of the lawyers.
"He has low blood pressure and low blood sugar. Because of severe dizziness, he moves with difficulty," she said.
Bakhtiar Hajiyev continues his hunger strike, which began 44 days ago, in the last week he started dry hunger strike, demanding his release.
* Bakhtiar Hajiyev was detained on December 9 on charges of hooliganism and contempt of court. On the same day, the Khatai district court arrested him for a period of 1 month and 20 days.
On December 15, Hajiyev went on a hunger strike, demanding his release. On December 28, he stopped his hunger strike after persistent appeals from the public and family members. However, on January 9, he resumed his hunger strike after the Court of Appeal refused to release him and continues it to this day.
On January 21, the court extended the term of Hajiyev's arrest for another 1 month. -0-
