Heavy rain on March 29 turned the streets of Baku into impassable puddles, hampering the movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
In some places the water level rose above the wheels of cars (more than half), which stopped in the middle of the road.
The most difficult situation occurred in the settlements Bayil and Chermet, on Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, in Sabunchu, Binagadi, Yasamal and the satellite town of Khirdalan.
Thus, the weather once again exposed problems in drainage and sewerage system of the capital.
According to weather forecasters, the precipiation of this morning in Baku and the Absheron peninsula was 14 mm, in the Greater Caucasus -21 mm, in the Central Lowlands - 21 mm, in Lankaran-Astara - 9 mm, in Nakhchivan - 7 mm, in the Lesser Caucasus - 8 mm, and in Ganja-Gazakh - 16 mm.
In the mountains of the Lesser Caucasus the snow depth was 2 cm, and in the mountains of the Greater Caucasus (Guba region) it was 10-15 cm.
The unstable weather will continue in Baku and Absheron on March 30. Intense rains will continue with a strong north-westerly wind. -03D-

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
