Heavy rain on March 29 turned the streets of Baku into impassable puddles, hampering the movement of pedestrians and vehicles.
In some places the water level rose above the wheels of cars (more than half), which stopped in the middle of the road.
The most difficult situation occurred in the settlements Bayil and Chermet, on Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, in Sabunchu, Binagadi, Yasamal and the satellite town of Khirdalan.
Thus, the weather once again exposed problems in drainage and sewerage system of the capital.
According to weather forecasters, the precipiation of this morning in Baku and the Absheron peninsula was 14 mm, in the Greater Caucasus -21 mm, in the Central Lowlands - 21 mm, in Lankaran-Astara - 9 mm, in Nakhchivan - 7 mm, in the Lesser Caucasus - 8 mm, and in Ganja-Gazakh - 16 mm.
In the mountains of the Lesser Caucasus the snow depth was 2 cm, and in the mountains of the Greater Caucasus (Guba region) it was 10-15 cm.

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.
