Baku / 07/29/17 / Turan: Serious problems have arisen with the health of the youth activist Bayram Mammadov imprisoned in Prison No. 13.
As his father Farman Mammadov told Turan IA, for several days Bayram has had a high temperature of 39 degrees. He has been vomiting, and injections do not help lower the temperature. His sleeping place is in a draft, and it seems he has caught a cold because of that. Bayram"s father said the problem with the conditions of detention had not been resolved. Earlier, lawyers said Bayram Mammadov's sleeping place was in a draft.
We were not able to receive any information on Bayram Mammadov in the Penal Service. The Main Medical Directorate of the Ministry of Justice told Turan they would take appropriate steps in connection with Bayram Mammadov"s health.
On May 10, 2016, the members of the NIDA Movement Giyas Ibrahimov and Bayram Mammadov were arrested after writing political slogans on the monument to Heydar Aliyev. However, they were accused of a crime connected with drug trafficking and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. -0-
