Baku/28.07.17/ Turan: Next year the world championship in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling will take place. However, the wrestlers of the Azerbaijani national team are not ready for the competition, because the relevant structures, to which the Federation of Wrestling belongs, did not create the necessary conditions for their training,announced the sportsmen that protested in front of the Federation building. Among them are such famous fighters as TogrulAskerov, world champion in Greco-Roman wrestling RasulChunaev, Haji Aliyev and others.
Dissatisfied athletes said that they were not given a salary for more than 12 months. Despite the fact that the National Olympic Committee, the Ministry of Sport and Youth and other relevant structures are aware of the problem, but do nothing.
One of the members of the national freestyle wrestling team , HajiAliyev told Turan that he was dissatisfied with the lack of conditions for training, and that training camps have not been organized for some sportsmen.
"Some athletes are not given an opportunity to travel. At the last Olympic Games we won nine. And now we are facing serious problems. And before the world championship there is not enough time,"he said. They were promised that the problem will be solved after the Islamic Games, but did nothing. Very little time remained for the championship. If no measures are taken no team will go to the World Cup Championship. "
The wrestler RasulChunayev also complained that for more than a year he had no salary, no bonuses, no training and no massage. Tomorrow on July 29, athletes will hold a press conference in connection with their problems.
The Ministry of Transport and Youth did not make any statements in connection with the existing problem. A spokeswoman for the ministry, SamayaMammadova, told Turan that they knew about the protest of the fighters. However, she said, the wrestlers complain not to the ministry, but to the Federation of struggle. The Federation did not comment on the protest in any way.
