Bina Residents Punished for Claiming Their Rights
Four protesters in the Bina settlement on November 8 are prosecuted. Eleven protesters were arrested administratively. In addition, after a warning, four more protesters, including two minors, were released. This is stated in the official report of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, November 8, about 8:00 in the morning about 160-170 villagers in Bina in protest against the incomplete repair of the road passing through the village tried to block the highway Bina - Hovsan.
"In the course of suppressing this attempt, a group of people, disobeying the requirements of the police, threw stones, injuring the guards - Sergeants Khankishi Guliyev and Elvin Ramazanov, Junior Sergeants Samir Bayramov and Zohrab Hajiyev, and damaging two official vehicles of the brand Fiat Doblo, the MIA report says.
The names of those arrested and the items, for which they are filed administrative and criminal charges, have not been disclosed.
Recall that in the morning on November 8 villagers held a protest in Bina, demanding from local authorities to clear the road flooded during a rainstorm. According to eyewitnesses, the road is not used by the public transport now and local residents are forced to get to it on foot. The action was initially peaceful. However, after the police began to disperse the crowd of people roughly, the action escalated into a confrontation between protesters and police forces.
