Blocking of Undesirable Websites Continues
On March 28, the blocking of three websites criticizing the government of Azerbaijan resumed. These are the Azadlig newspaper (azadliq.info), Internet channel Meydan TV (meydan.tv) and the Azerbaijani service of Radio Liberty (Azadlig.org).
The blocking of the websites began on March 27 in the afternoon. Closer to midnight, the lock was removed, and early in the morning it was resumed.
The authorities do not comment on the reason for this, although the Azerbaijani Communications Ministry has all the technical capabilities to find out the reasons and eliminate the malfunctions, if any.
However, the entrance to these websites outside Azerbaijan is free, which will make it possible to state that the authorities deliberately block websites that criticize the authorities or publish materials that the authorities do not like.
Note that these websites recently criticized Mehriban Aliyeva's appointment as the First Vice President of the country. -02B-
