Border guards prevented crossing the border by smugglers
On February 3 the attempt of illegal crossing the Azerbaijani-Iranian border was prevented by the Azerbaijani border guards near the village of Shahseven in Beylagan region .
According to the State Border Service, the three people tried to move from Iran to Azerbaijan contraband by boat across the river Arax. They faced the guards, did not obey orders to stop and opened fire. After the return fire from guards, smugglers threw part of the goods and fled. Their boat turned over and sank in the river, violators managed to the get to the Iranian coast. The work to identity the smugglers is ongoing. -03D04-
