Border guards stopped smuggling of 50 kg of drugs from Iran
Baku/28.04.22/Turan: On April 25 at 17:35, border guards noticed two border violators from Iran near the village of Avash, Yardimli region. When ordered to stop, the offenders dropped their burdens and ran back. On the spot, five bundles were found containing almost 33 kg of drugs - opium and marijuana, as well as 3,000 methadone-40 tablets.
On April 27, at 00:50, near the village of Alasha, Astara district, border guards detained a suspicious person who took a bundle from a non-residential premises. He was detained, the bundle contained 16.6 kg of heroin, opium and methamphetamine. Nazim Yusifov, a resident of the Astara district, born in 1990, turned out to be a drug courier.
