State Oil Company SOCAR continues technical works to extinguish a fire in the gas well "Bulla-Deniz" where a large fire began on August 17. The Vice-President of SOCAR, Khalik Mammadov said: "We have not managed to put out the fire, but the company actively continues the works," he said, without specifying the specific nature of the suppression activities.
According to Turan agency, starting Saturday, SOCAR together with MES embarked on measures to extinguish the fire at well N 90. In this regard, the top of the well which was damaged by fire has been cleaned. Technicians initially succeeded in extinguishing the fire, but strong pressure from under the sea floor reignited the blaze.
Currently, SOCAR specialists are developing other methods to completely extinguish the fire at the well. The main criterion for SOCAR in this regard is to save the exploration well, where excavation descended to 5868 meters.–12В-
