Citizens of Azerbaijan Did Not Suffer During Earthquake in Iran
No information on the citizens of Azerbaijan affected during the strong earthquake in northern Iran on August 11 has been reported, Turan was told by the Foreign Ministry spokesman Elman Abdullayev.
“Our diplomats in Iran continue to investigate the presence of the affected citizens of Azerbaijan, but they have not received such information,” said Abdullaev.
Note that the earthquake occurred in the province of East Azerbaijan, near Tabriz, densely populated by ethnic Azerbaijanis. According to recent reports, about 300 people were killed. -03B-
