Competition dedicated to Innoweek-Innovation week finalized
Winners of the contest digitally supported by Azercell awarded
The results of the competition among the journalists within the "InnoWeek-Innovation Week 2020" organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan and digitally sponsored by “Azercell Telecom” LLC have been announced.
Faig Abasguliyev, the author of “Working Time” TV program on ARB24 in the nomination "Best program about Innoweek 2020", Nigar Rahmanova, journalist of CBC TV in the nomination "Best TV plot", and Ilhama Abulfat, the journalist of Oxu.az, in the nomination of “Best article” were selected as a result of the jury's evaluation in 3 nominations on the topic of “Innoweek – Innovation Week 2020”. The winners received valuable gifts.
It is worth noting that, InnoWeek - Innovation Week was held on December 14-19 on the initiative of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies and joint partnership of UN Development Program, the Innovation Agency, and “Azercell Telecom” LLC.
Interesting and various meetings with the participation of local and international experts were organized in Azerbaijan as part of the week, which aims to disclose innovative ideas and expand the startup movement. World Internet Summit, Cybersecurity webinar, Forum of Innovations and Technologies, Towards Creative Solutions Olympiad and an online cybersports tournament have been recently held as a part of InnoWeek. Besides, the most innovative and active companies and projects in the field of innovation in 2019-2020 were awarded in various nominations.

The leader of the mobile communication industry, the largest taxpayer and the biggest investor of the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan “Azercell Telecom” LLC was founded in 1996. Currently, 5 million subscribers choose Azercell services. Mobile operator controls 49% of market share; while its geographical coverage constitutes 89.3%; and population coverage 99.8%. The mobile operator received the title of "The Telecommunication Company of the Year" among hundreds of organizations in the prestigious STEVIE 2020 competition. The company was ranked on the top in this nomination and won the Gold Award.®

The leading mobile operator participated in a pivotal session focused on sustainability and innovation. The 15th Sustainable Innovation Forum 2024, supported by “Azercell Telecom” LLC, took place on November 13-14 in Baku, bringing together approximately 1,000 senior global leaders in climate action. This prestigious event united representatives from business, finance, government, regional organizations, and NGOs to address pressing sustainability challenges, explore innovative solutions, and forge partnerships to accelerate global climate efforts.

"The biggest challenge in the education sector is the low number of fully staffed schools," said Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev on November 20 during a joint session of the Parliamentary Committees on Agrarian Policy, Family, Women, and Children Issues, and Science and Education. The session was held to discuss the draft law on the "State Budget for 2025," according to local media reports.
