Convicted blogger is placed in a solitary confinement
The blogger Rashad Ramazanov (Rashad Agaddin) kept in jail №2was placed to a solitary confinement, said his lawyer Azer Nagiyev. Ramazanov was sentenced by the Baku Court of Grave Crimes to 9 years' imprisonment under Article 234.4.3 (illegal possession and sale of drugs on a large scale.) A blogger is known for his critical statements on the authorities on his page on facebook. He writes about religion, freedom, justice. He especially ironically wrote about the nominationof Ilham Aliyev t for the third term, calling it as a desire to get into the Guinness Book of Records.
The lawyer visited the jail on January 23, trying to find the cause of the transfer of his client to the cooler. " In the jail I was not informed why and for how long Ramazanov was placed in solitary confinement. I was not allowed to meet him," said the lawyer.
The lawyer said he would complain on the administration of the jail №2 to the Prison Service. -03B04-
