Court of Appeal did not release trade union activist
Baku/23.08.23/Turan: On Wednesday, the Baku Court of Appeal considered a complaint against the arrest of member of the board of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan under the "Democracy 1918" Movement Aykhan Israfilov. The court did not satisfy the complaint and left Israfilov under arrest, chairman of the Movement Ahmed Mammadli told Turan.
According to him, Israfilov said in court that he rejects the accusation, considering the criminal case fabricated.
Recall that Israfilov was charged under Article 234 (illegal drug trafficking) and on August 12, by the decision of the Narimanov court, he was arrested for 4 months.
Associates link Israfilov's arrest with his trade union activities. He became the third trade union activist detained after a protest by food delivery couriers on August 1.
The head of the Confederation Afiyaddin Mammadov was arrested for 30 days on an administrative case. Elvin Mustafayev was charged with criminal charges in connection with drug trafficking and arrested for 4 months. -03D06-
