On Wednesday, the Baku Court of Appeal dismissed an appeal of human rights activist Leyla Yunus against an extension of her arrest, told the lawyer Elchin Gambarov. A week ago, Nasimi District Court of Baku extended the arrest of human rights activist Leyla Yunus for five months - until July 28.
Leyla Yunus was arrested on July 30, 2014 on charges of high treason and economic crimes. She denies the charges and says they are politically motivated.
Amnesty International recognized Yunus as “prisoner of conscience.”- 1606B-

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
