Witness in the case of Khadija Ismayilova is not allowed to leave the country
Lawyer Rovshan Rahimova today has not been allowed to leave the country for the international event in Tbilisi. The border guard told Rahimova that prosecutors had prohibited her leaving the country without explaining the reason for the ban. According to Rahimova, she is a witness in the case against the journalist Khadija Ismailova on a supposedly bringing to suicide attempts of Tural Mustafayev. Rahimova noticed that an hour before arriving to the airport an investigator of the Attorney General, Sanan Pashayev, called her and invited her for an interview in the case Tural Mustafayev.
However, Rahimova said that he could come after return to Baku on Sunday. The investigator agreed. However, already at the airport it was revealed that the prosecutor's office has imposed a ban on Rahimova’s leaving the country even in 26 November last year. Rahimova said the decision is unfounded and intends to challenge it in court.
Rahimova is a former fiancee of Tural Mustafayev, but broke off the engagement because of his mental health problems.
As for the Mustafayev, since the end of last year there is not any information about him. He wrote on his page in facebook that he rejects his claims against Khadija Ismailova, and withdrew the complaint. Further, he wrote that he was afraid of arrest and needs the assistance of lawyer. After that he disappeared. According to information from people close to Mustafayev, he was arrested at the airport while trying to leave.-06D-
