Court of Appeal Releases REAL Activist
Baku / 28.03.20 / Turan: The Ganja Court of Appeal on March 27 released a REAL activist Arastun Bakhshaliyev, who was arrested 10 days three days ago.
According to the lawyer Javad Javadov, the Court of Appeal reversed the decision of the Barda district court to arrest Bakhshaliyev on charges of "not subordinating to the police."
The appellate court changed the sentence to three days of arrest and, taking into account the expiration of this period, released the oppositionist.
Earlier, the REAL party regarded Bakhshaliyev’s arrest as a punishment for being active on social networks.
Bakhshaliev is the head of the Yasamal district organization of the REAL party. He was a candidate for deputy in the 93rd Barda City District in the February 9 parliamentary elections. The candidate from the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Fatma Yildirim was declared the winner in this district. —06D--
