The situation of observing a special quarantine regime in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, the likelihood of loss of oil revenues, problems of citizens working without registration, and the creation of a new management system are the topics of today's media.
The newspaper Azerbaijan writes about police measures against violators of the quarantine regime. Some catering establishments, which should work only until 15.00, also violate the regime. This happens in cities and districts.
So, in Baku on March 25, 26 and 27, 10 such enterprises were revealed, and their owners were fined administratively.
A warning was issued to seven people spreading misinformation, five were fined, and three others were administratively arrested.
1,590 cars trying to enter Baku, Sumgait and Absheron from regions were returned back.
The website Musavat.com discusses with the expert Rovshan Agayev the effect of coronavirus on oil revenues. The only way out of the situation with the least losses is to use the reserve assets of Azerbaijan in foreign currency.
If the pandemic, and therefore the crisis, continues, it is very important to maintain the value of resources, because the currency risk and the risk associated with assets are growing in parallel.
The website Moderator.az discusses with the deputy Vahid Ahmedov the situation of citizens who live on their daily earnings. According to him, proposals have been developed and submitted to the government regarding this category of people, since quarantine is introduced for a long period. These people may experience serious difficulties.
The deputy believes that the Ministry of Labor should compile lists and provide this category of people with direct assistance, the size of which should be determined by the government. Another proposal is related to utility bills. For at least 2 months, people need to be exempted from paying for utility bills, the deputy said.
The website Yenisabah.az discusses with the expert economist Elshad Mammadov the situation in the economy in connection with the falling price of oil and the spread of the Corona Virus pandemic. According to him, it is expected that the formation of a new economic management system will begin in Azerbaijan.
The way out of this situation is possible only with the help of such a new system. The expert also believes that in the current situation it is necessary to ensure social protection of the population and the allocation of financial resources for this.
The new management model should not be limited to the foregoing, it is also necessary to create new institutions and support economic spheres. It also requires tax incentives, support for entrepreneurs, and strengthening the social security system.
