Court of Appeals remains Sardar Alibeili in custody
Baku Appeals Court upheld the decision of the first instance court on the arrest of Sardar Alibeili , the editor of the newspaper “R.S Nota” for two months, according to the lawyer Elchin Sadigov.
Alibeili is charged under the Article 221.3 (hooliganism committed with weapons or objects used as weapons.) He was arrested on a complaint of a Namik Amirov. However Alibeili said that he did not know Amirov at all.
Alibeili was repeatedly arrested and detained because of the critical and insulting articles in his newspaper. His colleagues believe that this time he has been arrested for critical notes and a collage of the head of state, Ilham Aliyev, placed on the Facebook page of the editor, as well as the publication of the appeals of Isa Sadikhova, a political emigrant. -16D-
