In the office of the Azerbaijan National Committee of Helsinki Citizens' Assembly (HCA) a regular meeting of the Committee to Protect Civil Society (CPCS) was held on Monday.
As stated in the report, they discussed the difficult economic situation in the country, the plight of the population, and the gas supply problems.
Participants of the meeting also discussed issues of protection of the rights of political prisoners, the pressure on lawyers and the torture of detainees and prisoners, as well as pressure on the members of CPCS.
In addition, they discussed introduction of compulsory health insurance, the government's preparations for the winter, and the predatory lending policies of banks.
They decided to prepare a report on these issues and to put forward recommendations to address them. -06D--
