Customs Takes Over Mobile Phones
Facts of tax evasion have been revealed in the import of mobile phones into Azerbaijan. This was said to reporters by the deputy head of the State Customs Committee Safar Mehdiyev, commenting on the arrest of imported mobile phones at customs checkpoints.
According to him, evidence of repeated sending of phones by mail to the same address and thus tax evasion was revealed. According to him, during the month the country imported about 8,000 phones this way.
He also said that e-commerce in Azerbaijan is not tax exempt. The customs authorities are tasked with engaging e-commerce in taxation.
Mehdiyev stressed that the customs authorities in connection with this conduct serious investigations on the import of mobile phones.
In addition, customs officers continue to struggle with drug transit, smuggling of weapons, ammunition and others. During joint operations with the Border Guard Service, pneumatic weapons and explosives were withdrawn, he said.
Note that most seized "weapons" are hunting rifles and gun powder. -16D-

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
