
Ilgar Mamedov, the leader of the "REAL" Movement serving his term in the jail N 2 is feeling threat to his life, according to his lawyer Fuad Agayev. "I see no serious reason to refute Ilgar Mamedov’s words, but now I do not want to go into details, " said Agayev. According to him, a number of Mammadov’s rights are not provided, including a ban on telephone calls last week. "We discussed the situation with the head of the jail, and they promised to solve the questions on phone calls," said the lawyer. The Department of Public Relations of the Penitentiary Service refuted the information about the threat to Mammadov’s life and providing physical pressure on him before the other prisoners.
"Ilgar Mammadov is serving a sentence in accordance with the requirements of the law and human dignity. Messages on the limitation of his right to telephone calls is untrue. In accordance with the legislation, Ilgar Mamedov regularly uses the opportunity to talk on the phone ," said the Penitentiary Service.
With regard to the receipt of a copy of the document on placing Mammadov in the cooler, the public relations department recommended the lawyer to appeal to court.
On 30 July the lawyer Agayev stated that Ilgar Mammadov was attacked, and over the last week he was twice attcaked.
"Before there were no such events. The attackers struck three times on the head of Ilgar Mammadov. Unfortunately, the administration of the jail does not take any measures," Agayev said.
