Defense Ministry: Victims on Both Sides in Armed Clash in Gadabay
During the shootings on the contact line between Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces on July 24 a soldier Eldar Fataliyev was killed, the press service of the Defense Ministry reported. At the same time, the enemy lost at least five people in the attempts of sabotage attacks.
Skirmishes with the use of various weapons were also along the front line in Karabakh. In all cases the enemy was silenced and the sabotage attempt was foiled.
In turn, the Armenian side did not confirm these losses. Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan has recognized increase in tension on the front, but assured that the situation is under control.
"Today Armenia is doing everything possible to avoid a start of the war, but if all these efforts are in vain, the Armenian Armed Forces are ready to move the fighting to other areas," he said, without specifying what is meant.
At the same time, he said that Armenia is not afraid of war with Azerbaijan and is ready for it and expressed hope that Russia as a member of the CSTO will support Armenia. -06 / 02B-
