Editor of Azadlig Newspaper Summoned to Prosecutor`s Office
The acting editor of the newspaper Azadlig, Rahim Hajiyev, was summoned today for questioning by the Serious Crimes Department in the Prosecutor's Office.
According to the editor, they told him by phone that he was called as a witness, without specifying on what business.
Recall that on 20 August the CFO of the newspaper Faig Amirov was arrested, after which the investigation began to call the editorial staff.
Apparently, the investigation looks for evidence that Amirov is a Gulen supporter, or rather, Fethullah Gulen’s representative in Azerbaijan.
The authorities have long been trying to strangle the only opposition newspaper of the country. ‘It is no secret that all this fuss about the bonds with Gulen supporters is the latest invention of the authorities,’ said the leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli.
‘With the events in Turkey, as a pretext, the Azerbaijani authorities are trying to eliminate their political opponents,’ he said. -03D-

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
