Embassy of the United States of America
Office of Public Affairs
The U.S. Embassy in Baku, in collaboration with American Councils for International Education, is proud to announce the EducationUSA Alumni Fair as an exceptional opportunity for high school and university students, as well as their parents, interested in pursuing education in the United States. The EducationUSA Alumni Fair will feature representatives from more than 35 U.S. universities along with U.S. Embassy exchange programs. Embassy consular staff will also attend to share information about student visas. Charge d’Affaires Hugo Guevara will deliver opening remarks. The fair will take place on June 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Landmark’s Rotunda Hall. Address: 90A Nizami Street.
Azerbaijani and American alumni of U.S. universities will represent their alma maters and offer firsthand experiences and insights into studying in the United States. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions, obtain informational materials, and gain valuable advice on navigating the application process and scholarship opportunities.
In recent years, the number of Azerbaijanis studying in the U.S. has increased significantly. During the 2022-2023 academic year, 901 Azerbaijani students studied at U.S. higher education institutions, an increase of almost 25% compared to the year before and a 62% increase compared to the previous year.
This year, American University’s Washington College of Law launched a new joint degree program with ADA University, and the number of Azerbaijani students taking the SAT university admissions exam more than doubled. More and more Azerbaijani students are also participating in the Embassy’s many English language and educational exchange programs, as well requesting free, one-on-one consultations with EducationUSA advisers who advise parents and students on U.S. university admissions and financial aid.
