Elghiz Sadiglis Father Not Allowed to Meet with His Son
Baku / 22.03.18 / Turan: The father of the political emigrant Tural Sadigli, Alovsat Sadigli, was not allowed to meet on March 21 with his other son Elghiz Sadigli, who is under arrest. Alovsat Sadigli himself reported this.
According to him, Elghiz Sadigli is currently being held in the Binagadi detention center in administrative order. Alovsat Sadigli came to visit his son to give his some festive food present.
"They met me normally. When I said that I came to a meeting with Elghiz, they went to the office next door and talked with someone. Then they told me that the meeting would not take place, explaining this with the absence of persons responsible for making such decisions at the workplace. They said the meeting cannot take place until the end of the holidays," Alovsat Sadigli said.
According to him, yesterday another meeting with relatives was allowed. Elghiz Sadigli is deprived of a meeting because of his brother Tural. Alovsat Sadigli does not exclude that after liberation Elghiz can again be slandered and arrested.
Our attempt to find out the reasons for refusing to allow the father and the son to meet in law enforcement agencies failed.
Elghiz Sadigli was detained on February 23. He was accused of not obeying the lawful demands of the police and was arrested administratively for 30 days. On February 28, the Baku Court of Appeal upheld the decision on his arrest.
Alovsat Sadigli after the trial said that his son Elghiz at the trial stated about the tortures applied to him in the police. However, it was not possible to receive a comment on this statement in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Baku Court of Appeal. In recent days not only Elghiz Sadigli, but also many of his relatives and friends were brought to the police. -0-
