The issues of relations between universities of Azerbaijan and France were discussed during the two-day visit of a French delegation including the heads of a number of leading universities of the country to Baku.
During the reception in the embassy of France in Baku in the evening on April 2, Ambassador Pascal Monier said the discussions open prospects for the creation of the Azerbaijani-French University. Monier said this is not the first visit of representatives of French universities.
Earlier, in the University of ADA there were two Azerbaijani-French inter-university forums, within which agreements were signed on cooperation between universities of the two countries.
During the visit, according to the Rector of the University of Strasbourg, Alain Berecz, three memorandums of cooperation signed between universities of the two countries were signed.
He stressed that the development of relations between universities will contribute to the overall expansion of the Azerbaijani-French cooperation.
In turn, the Deputy Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Firudin Gurbanov noted the high level of bilateral cooperation in the field of education.
A number of universities in France teach the Azerbaijani language and there are centers of the Azerbaijani language and culture.
At the same time, in universities of Azerbaijan there are center of the French language and culture.
Gurbanov expressed the hope that the ties between the two countries' universities, student exchanges, joint research and other projects will develop successfully.
Responding to the question from Turan IA in what form it is supposed to create the French-Azerbaijan University, Gurbanov said that so far the idea of ??creating such an educational institution has been approved.
However, a specific decision is still pending and the question is a subject of further discussions. According to Gurbanov, the idea is to create a full-fledged university in Azerbaijan with the education in the French language.
