Entrepreneurs Suffer from Abnormal Fines
Baku / 07.06.19 / Turan: The head of the Ganun publishing house, Shahbaz Khuduoglu, considers the level of fines used by the customs authorities to be incorrect.
Since February 1, electronic declarations must be submitted for imported goods in Azerbaijan. If the declaration is not submitted on time, then the official is to be fined for AZN 1,000, and a legal entity is to be fined for AZN 1,500.
"Who set the size of these fines? Personally, I do not bring goods to the country for more than 1,500 manat, but the fine must be paid so much," said the entrepreneur.
In addition, the declaration must be submitted to customs on the basis of travel documents after the goods arrive in the country.
"How can an entrepreneur submit a declaration before the goods are delivered to the country?" This problem is not only for me. Hundreds of entrepreneurs suffer from this and are subject to fines unreasonably. This law must be changed," Khuduoglu said
Recall that on December 28, 2018, the President of Azerbaijan signed a decree on changes in the Customs Code. According to the amendments, prior to the delivery of goods to the customs territory, it is necessary to submit a brief import declaration. Not submitting a declaration entails administrative liability, but does not prevent the importation of goods. -21B06-
