European Football Championship Under-17 to Start in Baku
The competition involves 16 teams, which at the preliminary stage are divided into four groups.
Group A includes Azerbaijan, Portugal, Belgium and Scotland. Group B includes Ukraine, Germany, Austria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Group C includes France, Denmark, England and Sweden. Group D includes Italy, Serbia, the Netherlands and Spain.
Group stage matches will be held May 5-12. Two best teams from each group will go into the quarter finals.
The quarterfinals will be held on May 14-15, the semifinals – on 18 May, and the final will take place on 21 May.
Championship matches will be held at the Olympic Stadium, as well as at the Azersun Arena (Surakhani), Bakcell Arena (Eighth Kilometer settlement) and Dalga Arena (Shuvalan).
The opening ceremony will take place at 19:00 at the Olympic Stadium, after which the teams of Azerbaijan and Portugal will play.
Experts call the teams in England, Spain, the Netherlands and France the favorites. -06B--

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.

During the operation of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 5 members of an organized group engaged in drug trafficking were detained. All of them have previous convictions: Bahlul Ismayilov, Royal Aliyev, Khayal Aliyev, Samir Aghayev, and Ali Mammadli.
