The European Town of 2015 opened in the historic center of Baku, Icheri Sheher, on 19 September. The event was organized by the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan and the embassies of EU Member States in order to familiarize the residents of Baku with the national traditions and culture of European countries.
For each country, tents demonstrate their culture and national cuisine.
The program of the event, which will continue until 20.00, includes entertainment shows, various competitions, quizzes, karaoke, concerts and museum tours.
“European Town is a window to Europe and an opportunity to explore the rich and diverse culture of the European countries. We are happy to share it with our Azerbaijani friends," the Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Malena Mard said at the opening ceremony.
She said the event will be interesting and memorable for both adults and children. "We believe that Bakuvians will be interested in the European Town," Mard said.
The main guest of the concert of the European Town of 2015 will be Scottish band Peatbog Faeries.
