FC Karabakh Wins Swiss Young Boys in Their Field
FC Karabakh from Agdam, Azerbaijan won the Swiss Young Boys 1:0 in the first leg match of the play-off round of the Europa League in soccer in Bern late on Thursday.
During the meeting, the guests possessed territorial and competitive advantage. At the 67th minute, Richard Almeida sent the ball into the “nine” of the opponent’s gate from a 20-meter distance and opened the scoring.
In another match of the Europa League playoffs FC Gabala drew 0:0 with the Greek FC Panathinaikos at home.
The second leg matches will take place on 27 August.
Thus, FC Karabakh is close to repeating its last year's success, when the team for the first time in its history entered the group stage of the Europa League. -06D--
