February 15 – the Day of the fight against childhood cancer
On Wednesday in the “28Mall” the staff of the Children Oncology Clinic in collaboration with students of the Baku branch of the Moscow Sechenov Medical Institute carried out event dedicated to the Day of the fight against pediatric oncology.
"The purpose of our action is to draw attention to such an important problem as childhood cancer; and 1-1.5% of malignant cancers occurring in children. This is a problem not only of healthcare system, but also of the entire state. In children, the disease is expressed mainly in the form of embryonic tumors. However, a large part is suffering from leukemia.
Azerbaijan annually registers 350 sick children. The results of their treatment is better than of adults. For example, 80-85% of patients can be cured," said the oncologist Reiman Ismailzade.
Children's Cancer Hospital in Azerbaijan was first established in 2012 under the National Cancer Center.—06D—

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal.
