Fire at Bulla-Deniz is not extinguished
Fire which began at night on August 18 at the offshore gas condensate field "Bulla-Deniz" in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, has not yet been extinguished, according to informed source in the state company SOCAR. Official information on the matter is very stingy. It is only known that a meeting of the special committee of the employees of the state-owned companies and special emergency services was held. The Commission discussed the issues on extinguishing fire.
The fire began in the exploration well N 29 during a drilling at a depth of six kilometers. At this point, there was an open gushing gas, which caught fire. The workers on the platform were evacuated. "Bulla-Deniz" is in the open sea, in 80 km to the south of Baku. -03D-
