A fire began this afternoon in the old oil fields in the "20th area" in Sabail district.
According to the Ministry for Emergency Situations, remains of the old oil in pipelines burned. Black smoke could be seen at a great distance from the scene.
The press service of Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the fire was extinguished, there were no injuries. Causes of fire are unknown. -02D-

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
