First Victory of Azerbaijani National Soccer Team in Qualifying for Euro 2016
The Azerbaijani national football team won the Malta team 2:0 in Baku in the next qualifying match of Euro 2016 Group H on 28 March.
The account was opened in the third minute. After a pass from the flank Javid Huseynov sent the ball into the far corner of the goal with his head.
After this the Azerbaijan team had advantage throughout the match. However, the second goal was scored in the last (90 + 3) minutes. Called to the national team of Azerbaijan from the German Karlsruhe, Dmitry Nazarov defeating an opponent in the penalty area of the Maltese, sent the ball to the far post.
Thus, the Azerbaijani team won its first victory in the qualifying tournament Euro 2016 and moved from the last sixth to the fifth place in Group H. It was the first official game of the Azerbaijani team under the leadership of the head coach, well-known former Croatian footballer Robert Prosinecki.
